OBA PROVINCIAL CHAMPS!!!!
The Essex Yellowjackets 2007s - 18U completed their journey to an OBA title Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Listowel.
The Yellowjackets needed 3 wins on Sunday to finish the job.Essex beat Dorchester in the semi-final game 2-1 in a very tight contest.That left Essex with the daunting task of beating Listowel 2x.In game 1 Essex had their offense running on all cylinders and defeated Listowel 12-2 in 5 innings.This left Essex 1 victory away from their championship. Game 2 was a defensive battle with the score being 2-2 going into the 7th inning. Essex scored 2 in the top of the 7th and then shut the door in the bottom of the 7th for their OBA title!!!Great job boys!!!
